Renewable energy project on the remotest inhabited island

Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, Tristan Da Cunha (Uk Overseas territory)

Photovoltaic solar | Thermal Solar

Projet d'énergie renouvelable sur l'île habité la plus reculée (Tristan Da Cunha)

This project is a collaboration between Enviroearth and the Government of Tristan Da Cunha for the implementation of renewable energy on the remotest inhabited island in the world (at least seven days sail from Cape Town).

The project consists in the installation of 5 solar water heaters and a grid-tie pilot solar farm for the community of about 265 people.

Our contribution involved the design, procurement, logistics, construction, commissioning and maintenance of the solar farm.

We worked closely with the local government and the community, which was involved in the construction of the solar power plant.

Electricity is exported to the main grid, and the solar farm is the property of the Government of Tristan Da Cunha.
