The store Assaí - the Brazilian cash-and-carry sign - located in Mato Grosso has just installed 2,000 m² of photovoltaic panels on its roof. The approximately 1,140 panels will produce between 11% and 15% of the store's total energy consumption. The installation was carried out in partnership with GreenYellow, also a subsidiary of the Casino group, which developed and financed the project.
The photovoltaic plant is leased by GreenYellow in Assai in the long term, enabling the distributor to reduce its energy bill. "Assai will benefit from clean and safe energy for the next 20 years, with real savings on its energy bills thanks to fixed rent," said Pierre-Yves Mourgue, president of GreenYellow Brazil.
According to Fernando Basilio, head of strategic projects at Assai, "this installation represents the first step of a large-scale photovoltaic production. Confident in GreenYellow's expertise, we will extend this type of project to other stores in our network."
