Montpellier, FranceGENSUN was founded in June 2007 by Michel Erbs, a veteran of the international construction industry with more than 20 years’ experience in offshore oil & gas exploration and production, fiber optic / power submarine cables, and telecom infrastructures in West Africa, Egypt, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Early 2014, NEOEN purchased the French subsidiary of the Juwi EnR Group and renamed it NEOEN DÉVELOPPEMENT. Some of Juwi France’s personnel with great experience in the EPC and O&M spheres were transferred to GENSUN.
In February 2017, GENSUN joined the Ponticelli Frères French group which is active internationally. The Group is a family-owned medium-sized company employing 5,000 people with a € 950 M turnover for year 2015/2016. It is a general contractor, maintenance and rigging-lifting operator in the energy sector, particularly well established in France and Africa.
As at January 01, 2018, GENSUN had built and connected to the grid 236 MW [DC] of PV Plants (210 MW [DC] solar farms, 16 MW [DC] rooftops, 6 MW [DC] carports and 4 MW [DC] CPV ), had 9 MW [DC] of PV Plants under construction (PV barns, carports, rooftops and solar farms), 308 MW [DC] of PV Plants (solar farms, carports, rooftops) at the design, permitting and procurement stages, and 462 MW [DC] of PV Plants under O&M contracts. GENSUN – headquartered in Montpellier, South of France, with service bases in Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier, Toulouse, Pau, Bordeaux, Tunis and Lisbon – employs 45 highly skilled PV specialists and had revenues in excess of € 26.7 million in 2016.
